Tungsten Steel Tactical Pen Set (3 Pack)

Writes the log. Breaks the glass. Raises no eyebrows.

Interior of a pickup truck at sunset with a bearded man in flannel and trucker cap writing a reflective daily entry in a field notebook with a tactical pen, Tennessee highway and open sky through the windshield.

How John uses it

I keep one in the chest pocket of my field jacket — the one I wear when I’m out past sundown. Not because I expect trouble. Because I want the boring version of a tool to be the one I reach for first, and a pen is as boring as it gets.

It’s the pen I use to fill the notebook when I’m sitting in the truck at the clearing. It also happens to be tungsten steel with a strike tip. If a door won’t open or a window needs to, I have options that don’t require me to carry anything that gets me stopped at a checkpoint.

Why John recommends it

Off-grid life is 95% paperwork you wrote yourself — logs, notes, timestamps, coordinates. You need a pen that works. The fact that this one also breaks tempered glass is insurance you’ll probably never use. Insurance is cheap when you buy it three at a time.
