Shadows on the Ridge: Unmarked Aerial Reconnaissance and The Hum

It started like any other Thursday—logs ready to be filled, the shortwave radio crackling in the background, and my binoculars at the ready. But as the sun dipped below the horizon, the ordinary gave way to the extraordinary. The Ridge, usually a place of tranquil beauty and clear signals, became the stage for an event that would occupy my thoughts and logs for the days to come.

17:45 - The Hum, an elusive low-frequency sound that has puzzled and tormented a select few of us for years, began its invasive drone. Noteworthy, considering its recent absence. With my notebooks at the ready, I documented its resurgence, noting the time and ambient conditions. The connection between The Hum and specific atmospheric conditions has always been a point of interest, yet tonight, the weather was as ordinary as could be.

18:30 - Anomalies don't send invitations; they arrive unannounced. The first of the unmarked helicopters appeared, circling The Ridge. No markings could be seen through the binoculars—a detail that stands out, as aerial activity here is usually limited to the local news or the occasional forest service flyover. This was different. The craft were black, sleek, and silent barring the sound of their rotors against the night sky. Utilizing a handheld radio scanner, I picked up fragments of encrypted communications—another entry for the log.

Why here? Why now? The coincidence of The Hum's resurgence with the appearance of these helicopters suggests a connection. The pattern? Still unclear. What is clear, however, is the government's (or some entity's) interest in this area. The helicopters' flight paths seemed to concentrate on areas known to experience The Hum, but also those close to reported Dead Zones. Coincidence has a pattern if you look long enough, and this scenario was ripe for analysis.

Over the following nights, the pattern solidified. The helicopters appeared precisely when The Hum was strongest, hovering over areas like Old Miller Farm and Mile Marker 17—both locations of interest in my logs. Notably, electronic equipment became unreliable during these encounters, a characteristic hallmark of the Dead Zones.

Preliminary conclusions point to a coordinated effort to either study or interfere with the phenomena associated with The Ridge. The presence of unmarked helicopters, the specific interest in Dead Zones and areas where The Hum is prevalent, and the encrypted communications suggest a level of surveillance and intervention far beyond casual observation.

But, the questions remain—What are they looking for? Are they attempting to understand The Hum and Dead Zones, or is there something more, hidden beneath layers of secrecy? And, Why now? Has there been a breakthrough or discovery that warranted this elevated attention?

Stay vigilant. Document everything. Because the truth—whatever it may be—is out there, and it's our job to find it.

I'm curious what you think. Here are a few questions to consider:

  • 1What are they looking for?
  • 2Why now?
