The Surveyor's Schedule: When Government Contractors Follow Aerial Activity

I need to talk about the Surveyors.

They showed up again yesterday. White Ford F-250, no company markings, Tennessee government plates. Two men in reflective vests with surveying equipment. They set up on the ridge access road — the exact stretch that overlooks The Clearing.

This is the seventeenth time in three years.

## THE PATTERN

Here's what I've documented:

  • **May 18, 2026**: Three unidentified aerial returns over The Clearing, 23:14-23:47. Bright, silent, moving in coordinated formation.
  • **May 20, 2026**: Surveyors arrive. Set up equipment facing The Clearing. Stay 4-6 hours. Leave before dusk.

This isn't new. I went back through my logs:

  • January 3, 2026: Significant aerial activity
  • January 5, 2026: Surveyors on the ridge
  • September 17, 2025: Multiple signal bursts, visual confirmation of lights
  • September 19, 2025: Surveyors return
  • March 11, 2025: Unexplained flashes, equipment interference
  • March 12, 2025: Surveyors (next day that time)

Seventeen documented instances. The Surveyors always appear within 24-72 hours of significant aerial observations.

## WHAT ARE THEY SURVEYING?

I hiked up yesterday afternoon. Got close enough to see their setup — total station theodolite, GPS equipment, ground-penetrating radar unit. Professional gear. They were methodical, working a grid pattern across the hillside.

When I approached, they were polite but firm. "County land survey, sir. Routine boundary verification."

Fine. Except:

  • This is the same stretch they "surveyed" in January
  • And September
  • And March before that
  • The county records show no pending disputes or development plans for this area
  • Their equipment was pointed at The Clearing, not at boundary markers

## THE ALTERNATIVE EXPLANATION

Look — I'm an engineer. I know how to avoid confirmation bias. So let's be honest about what this could be:

Maybe it's coincidence. County work schedules are opaque. Maybe they survey this ridge every few months for legitimate reasons I don't understand. Maybe I'm seeing patterns because I *want* to see patterns.

Maybe I'm the reason they're here. It's possible someone monitors my radio traffic or noticed my observation station. Maybe *I'm* what they're surveying — checking if the weird guy on the mountain is doing anything that requires attention.

Maybe the timing is selection bias. I watch the sky most clear nights. Aerial anomalies happen. Surveyors do county work. Maybe I only notice them because I'm primed to look for connections.

All of that is possible. I've been doing this for seven years, and I still haven't found the smoking gun that proves anything beyond doubt.

But here's what I can't explain away: Why do they always face The Clearing? Why the same ridge access point? Why never during the day of the aerial activity, always after?

It's like they're measuring something. Or documenting something. Or verifying something happened.

## WHAT I'M DOING NOW

I'm expanding the log. Cross-referencing every surveyor appearance with:

  • Aerial observations (mine and others)
  • Signal activity on monitored frequencies
  • Reports from Old Harold and other locals
  • Weather data (ruling out atmospheric causes)
  • Satellite passage times (ruling out space debris)

I've also started photographing their vehicles — plates, equipment, work patterns. Not confronting them. Just documenting. Another entry for the log.

The numbers don't lie, but they don't always tell the whole truth either.

## QUESTIONS FOR YOU

Have any of you noticed government contractors or surveyors appearing after unusual events in your area? And if they're just doing routine county work — why does "routine" keep lining up with the nights when something appears in the sky?

Stay vigilant.

I'm curious what you think. Here are a few questions to consider:

  • 1Have any of you noticed government contractors or surveyors appearing after unusual events in your area?
  • 2If they're just doing routine county work — why does 'routine' keep lining up with the nights when something appears in the sky?
