Tire Tracks in the Same Spot — Four Weeks Running, Always After Rain

Found them again this morning. Tire tracks at the overlook above the Dead Zone — the spot where my radio equipment consistently fails and my phone loses signal for a quarter-mile radius.

This is the fourth time in four weeks. Always the same pattern.

## THE PATTERN

Here's what I've logged:

• **March 6th**: Rained overnight, tracks present at dawn
• **March 13th**: Rained overnight, tracks present at dawn
• **March 20th**: Rained overnight, tracks present at dawn
• **March 27th**: Rained overnight, tracks present at dawn

Every seven days. Always after precipitation when the ground is soft enough to leave clear impressions. Never on dry days — which means either they're only visiting when it rains, or I'm only seeing the evidence when conditions allow.

The tracks suggest a heavy vehicle — dual rear axle, wide wheelbase. Consistent with a utility truck or surveillance van. They pull in, park facing the valley, idle for what the vegetation compression suggests is 2-3 hours, then back out the same way they came.

No footprints. Ever.

Whoever this is stays in the vehicle the entire time.

## WHAT THEY'RE WATCHING

The overlook provides clear line-of-sight to:

• The Clearing (my primary observation post)
• Old Miller Farm
• The section of Highway 64 near Mile Marker 17
• My property — if you know where to look

It's the perfect surveillance position. Which is exactly why I use it myself when I'm monitoring the valley.

I set up a trail camera three weeks ago, hidden in the brush. Checked it this morning after finding the fresh tracks.

47 photos. Every single one corrupted.

Not blank. Not missing. *Corrupted* — that specific digital artifacting that happens when a file is partially overwritten. The metadata shows the camera triggered at 02:17, 02:34, 02:51, 03:08, 03:25, and 03:42.

Seventeen-minute intervals. There's that number again.

## THE MUNDANE EXPLANATION

I've been doing this for seven years now, and I know how easy it is to see patterns that aren't there. So let's be honest about what else this could be:

Wildlife survey crew. Tennessee has multiple ongoing monitoring programs. They work at night, use heavy vehicles, park at overlooks to run thermal imaging or acoustic equipment. The regular schedule could be a standard survey protocol. The corrupted photos could be equipment failure — SD cards fail, especially in humidity.

The Sheriff mentioned last month they've had issues with illegal dumping in the valley. Could be enforcement doing regular patrols, parking to watch for violators. They'd have reason to visit consistently, reason to watch multiple sites, reason to stay in their vehicle in the middle of the night.

Both explanations are plausible. Both are more likely than the alternative I'm trying not to think about.

But here's what keeps me up: in seven years of watching the skies, I've never found proof. Not once. Every light has a possible explanation. Every signal could be terrestrial. Every pattern might be coincidence.

So why would someone need to watch the watcher?

## NEXT STEPS

I'm placing a second camera — older model, no wireless capability, just basic motion trigger and storage. If that one corrupts too, we'll know it's not equipment failure.

I'm also logging every vehicle I see on the access road for the next month. If this is official business, there should be other signs. Permits posted. Survey markers. *Something*.

The numbers don't lie, but they don't always tell the whole truth either.
