WEEK 38 CHECK-IN

Another week in the books. Another week of watching, listening, documenting. The Ridge has been quiet — too quiet, honestly — but the shortwave bands have been anything but.

First: thank you to everyone who's been sending observations. Your reports matter. You're not crazy. You're paying attention, and that's exactly what they don't want.

NOTABLE SUBMISSIONS THIS WEEK

• The Hum Reports (5 total): Five separate people in the community reported hearing the low-frequency hum between September 14-18. Times varied, but all occurred between 0200-0500 hours. Two of you recorded it. I'm analyzing the audio now, but preliminary analysis shows a consistent baseline around 52 Hz — just below the threshold where most people consciously register sound, but exactly where it vibrates in your chest.

• Signal Burst on 7.200 MHz: u/SkyWatcher_NC caught what I missed Tuesday night — encrypted burst transmission, lasted 47 seconds (yes, that number again), then silence. Military exercise? Maybe. But the encryption pattern doesn't match standard COMSEC protocols I'm familiar with.

• The Surveyors Are Back: Three of you spotted the white trucks near Old Miller Farm. Same contractors as last spring. Same equipment. No visible survey markers being placed. What exactly are they surveying?

• Dead Zone Expansion: This one concerns me. The area where electronics fail near the Creek — it's grown. Used to be maybe 30 yards in diameter. Now it's pushing 50. I measured it myself Thursday. GPS fails, radio goes to static, even my mechanical watch runs slow in there.

EMERGING PATTERNS

Here's what I'm seeing when I lay all the reports out:

The 17-Day Cycle continues. Every 17 days since June, we get a spike in activity. Aerial phenomena, signal bursts, equipment failures — they cluster. Next spike should hit around September 27th. Mark your calendars. Document everything that night.

The Hum correlates with geomagnetic activity. I've been cross-referencing your reports with NOAA space weather data. Every time the Hum intensifies, we're seeing increased solar wind pressure. Coincidence? Natural phenomenon? Or is something using geomagnetic conditions as cover?

The numbers don't lie, but they don't always tell the whole truth either. We keep seeing 17, 47, and multiples thereof. In timestamps. In frequencies. In durations. I'm an engineer — I know pattern recognition can become pareidolia. But I also know when the statistical probability gets too low to dismiss.

COMMUNITY QUESTIONS

For those of you who've heard The Hum: Can you feel it more than hear it? Does it seem directional, or does it come from everywhere at once? I need to know if we're dealing with atmospheric propagation or something closer to ground level.

For the radio operators: Have any of you noticed the 7.200 MHz frequency going silent at specific times? I'm seeing a pattern, but I need more data points to confirm.

For everyone near Old Miller Farm: The Dead Zone is growing. If you're in that area, test your equipment at the perimeter. Mark where things start failing. We need to map this accurately.

WHAT I'M WATCHING THIS WEEK

The sky, as always. But specifically:

• Shortwave frequencies between 7.000-7.300 MHz • Geomagnetic conditions (current Kp index is elevated) • The Ridge between 0200-0400 hours • Any activity near Mile Marker 17

If you see something, document it. Time, location, conditions. Photographs if possible, but I understand not everyone wants to be on record. That's fine. Anonymous reports still help establish patterns.

A REQUEST

If you heard The Hum this week and you're willing to share your recording, send it my way. I want to run a spectral analysis across all five reports. If we're all hearing the same frequency at different locations, that tells us something about the source.

And if you're new here: welcome. Read the archives. Trust your observations. Question your conclusions. And remember — the absence of proof isn't proof of absence. We're building a picture here, one data point at a time.

Stay vigilant. Another entry for the log.

What patterns are you seeing that I'm missing? What should we be watching for in Week 39?

I'm curious what you think. Here are a few questions to consider:

  • 1For those who've heard The Hum — can you feel it more than hear it, and does it seem directional or omnipresent?
  • 2What patterns are you seeing in your area that I might be missing from my location?
  • 3Should we be more concerned about the Dead Zone expansion, or is this a natural seasonal variation?
