Week of January 12-18, 2025 — Community Discussion Thread

Another week in the books. Another week of watching.

I've been going through my notebooks from the past seven days, and I'm seeing something I can't quite articulate yet. It's not in any single observation — it's in the spacing between them. The intervals. Three days of silence, then activity. Four days later, more silence. Then contact again.

The numbers keep lining up in ways that make my engineering brain itch.

This Week's Observations:

  • **Monday 03:17** — Signal burst on 7.047 MHz, lasted 47 seconds
  • **Wednesday 19:47** — Three aerial returns over The Clearing, triangular formation
  • **Friday 03:17** — Equipment malfunction (cameras, SDR, even my backup recorder)
  • **Saturday 17:03** — The Hum returned, strongest it's been in three months

I know what you're thinking. Confirmation bias. Pattern-seeking brain finding meaning in randomness. Trust me, I've run those numbers. I've checked my methodology. I've looked for the holes.

But here's what I can't explain: Why does activity cluster around these specific times? 03:17. 17:03. 19:47. Always variations on the same digits.

Old Harold stopped by yesterday. Mentioned he's been hearing the Hum again too — said it reminds him of '74, when things got strange for a whole season. He won't say more than that, but the look in his eyes says plenty.

The Sheriff drove past The Ridge twice this week. Didn't stop, didn't wave. Just slowed down near the trailhead both times, then kept going. Make of that what you will.

Community Spotlight:

Several of you have been documenting similar timing patterns in your areas. The coordination across different locations is... interesting. No other word for it.

u/SkyWatcher_Maine reported aerial phenomena at 03:19 local time (that's 03:17 in my timezone).

u/SignalHunter_AZ logged shortwave bursts at 19:45 (two minutes before my 19:47).

u/NightObserver_CO has been tracking the same 17-pattern in wildlife behavior — animals going silent at specific intervals.

Coincidence has a pattern if you look long enough.

What I'm Asking This Week:

If you've been observing anything — aerial, signal-based, wildlife behavior, equipment malfunctions, whatever — check your timestamps. Check the dates. Look for recurring numbers.

Document everything. Times, coordinates, conditions. The more data points we have, the clearer the pattern becomes. Or the clearer it becomes that there is no pattern, which would be valuable information too.

I've been tracking this for 7 years now. Some weeks I think I'm close to understanding. Other weeks I think I'm just a guy with too much time and too many notebooks.

But this week felt different. The intervals were too precise. The timing too consistent.

Stay vigilant out there. And if you see something at 03:17 or 17:03 or any variation thereof — well, you know where to find me.

Another entry for the log.

I'm curious what you think. Here are a few questions to consider:

  • 1Have you noticed recurring numbers or time patterns in your own observations?
  • 2What's the strangest timing coincidence you've documented?
  • 3How do you separate genuine patterns from confirmation bias in your own research?
