Weekly Megathread: The Surveyors Are Back Early — And They're Not Alone

Another week in the books. The Ridge has been busy.

First things first: thank you to everyone who's been documenting and sharing. The community reports are becoming more valuable than my own observations — you're covering territory I can't reach, catching patterns I'd miss alone. Keep it coming.

PERSONAL UPDATE: THE SURVEYORS

They showed up Tuesday morning. Three white trucks, no company logos, same crew as last October. But here's what's different: they're three weeks early. They always come in September. Always. I've got five years of logs confirming it.

And this time? They brought a helicopter.

Small, civilian-looking, but it's been doing grid patterns over the valley every afternoon between 15:00-17:00. Flying low. The kind of low that says they're looking for something specific, not just surveying land.

I tried monitoring frequencies — nothing but static in the usual bands. Either they're not transmitting, or they're using encryption I can't crack with my setup.

Old Harold says he saw them taking soil samples near the Dead Zone by the creek. Soil samples. In August. When the ground survey isn't scheduled until fall.

What changed? What are they looking for?

COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS

Some excellent submissions this week:

  • **u/SkyWatcher_NC** caught three sequential flashes at 02:47 on Thursday — same interval pattern several of us logged in June
  • **u/FrequencyHunter** identified a repeating 8-second burst on 7.200 MHz — still can't decode it, but it's definitely artificial
  • **u/TrailCam_Mike** got footage of unmarked vehicles on Forest Road 338 at night, no headlights, thermal signature only
  • **u/PatternSeeker** compiled a timeline showing The Surveyors have appeared 17 times since 2019 — but only twice outside their normal September window

EMERGING PATTERN

Here's what I'm seeing when I lay it all out:

The Dead Zones have been expanding. The Surveyors show up early with aerial support. The helicopter is flying search patterns over areas where electronics fail.

Coincidence? Maybe. But coincidence has a pattern if you look long enough.

Or maybe the Dead Zones are natural geological anomalies, the survey is routine infrastructure work running ahead of schedule, and the helicopter is just cheaper than ground crews for terrain mapping. That's the rational explanation.

But it doesn't explain why they're taking soil samples in the exact locations where my equipment fails.

CALL TO ACTION

If you're in the Southeast and you've noticed:

  • Unusual survey activity ahead of normal schedules
  • Helicopter or drone activity doing grid patterns
  • Dead Zones appearing or expanding
  • Equipment malfunctions in specific locations

Document it. Time, location, conditions. We need more data points.

What did you observe this week? Anyone else seeing early survey activity in their area?

Stay vigilant. Document everything.

The numbers don't lie, but they don't always tell the whole truth either.

I'm curious what you think. Here are a few questions to consider:

  • 1What changed? What are they looking for?
  • 2What did you observe this week? Anyone else seeing early survey activity in their area?
